Mack Trucks, Inc., Selects Neovation To Develop an Integrated Parts Management and Ordering System

DENVER--Sept. 6, 2000--Mack Trucks, Inc., selected Neovation, the recently formed combination of Waterstone Consulting and Interactive Papyrus, as its partner in developing an integrated parts management and ordering system. The project supports Mack's commitment to being the easiest truck original equipment manufacturer (OEM) to work with.
With more than 270 dealers in its network, Mack worked with Neovation to develop a comprehensive parts management and ordering system that is tightening its relationship with dealers by simplifying and supplying additional functionality to the process of ordering parts.
"With our dealer network extending throughout the United States and Canada, the solution drives supply chain efficiencies and has a significant impact on the company's bottom-line," said Dave Covey, director, customer support, Mack Trucks. "We spent a considerable amount of time identifying both our customer and dealer needs, and turned to Neovation for strategy and implementation. Their client-proven experience in understanding the unique business functionality within the manufacturing sector, particularly the heavy-duty marketplace, and their ability to attack a complex problem and deliver results on time was key to the project's success."
Neovation provided Mack with a Web-based system that includes an online parts catalog containing chassis and part information dating back to 1966, an online ordering system and increased visibility to Mack's inventory. Dealers are now able to easily locate parts, check inventory levels and compare price and availability of Mack parts with other vendors. In addition, Neovation created and implemented an integrated parts ordering process with access to reporting on returns and cross-referencing functionality. Orders placed for Mack parts are fed through the company's parts distribution center for fulfillment. Through this streamlined process, Mack is able to achieve enhanced customer satisfaction levels, increased parts sales and more efficient utilization of the parts distribution center work force, delivering on its commitment to being the easiest OEM to work with.
"We were excited about the opportunity to team-up with Mack on the development and implementation of this mission-critical solution," said Steven Rodgers, vice president and general manager, Neovation. "This project gave us another chance to use our strategic expertise in developing order management solutions and our in-depth experience in the manufacturing sector."
