MSC.Software Strengthens Management Team; John Mowrey Announced as Vice President for Professional Services Business

    LOS ANGELES & COSTA MESA, Calif.--Sept. 6, 2000--MSC.Software Corporation (MSC), the world's leading developer and provider of simulation software, today announced the appointment of John Mowrey to lead the newly created Professional Services Organization (PSO) with responsibility for the company's global services business.
    Mowrey Joins MSC.Software from Automated Analysis Corp. an Ann Arbor services company, where he held the position of President and COO. Previous roles include Executive VP of Modern Engineering and a senior consultant to Andersen Consulting. His extensive experience in the automotive industry includes two VP positions at American Motors: VP of Product Planning and Styling and VP of Purchasing, Logistics and Supplier Quality. Prior to that, John held numerous positions at General Motors Chevrolet Division: Executive Director of Planning, Chief Vehicle Engineer, and Project Manager of Vehicle Dynamics.

"Services today comprise approximately $16M of our revenue and are the fastest growing part of our business. Given current trends, we believe that this revenue stream has the potential to reach $100M in a few years. To get that big requires internal growth, acquisitions, and partnering.     Mowrey has a BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Carnegie-Mellon University and a Master's Degree in Engineering from the University of Michigan.
