Proxicom Announces Multi-Million Dollar Engagement with Toyota Motor Sales, USA to Build and Develop Internet Marketplace; Business Remains Strong Across Proxicom's Industry PracticesRESTON, Va., Sept. 6 Proxicom, Inc. a leading e-business consulting and development company delivering multi-channel solutions to Fortune 500 companies, today announced its agreement with Toyota Motor Sales, USA, Inc. to strategically redesign and redevelop Toyota's online marketplace in order to give the car manufacturer's customers expanded choices when shopping over the Internet. Through this effort, which began in the spring of 2000, Toyota has rapidly accelerated its plans to expand the scope of its Internet technologies, enhance its online offering of products, and scale its Internet architecture to support a growing visitor base. Under the terms of the multi-million dollar agreement, Proxicom will use the Internet to leverage the Toyota and Lexus brands to inspire passionate loyalty from discriminating consumers. A major goal of this endeavor is to create differentiation while dramatically improving the sales process. Proxicom is working with Toyota to develop their relationship with the consumer -- beyond the vehicle -- to a wide range of other services, including financing, insurance, auto repair and service and road atlas navigation.
