Renick Cadillac Acquires Subaru Dealership

5 September 2000

Uniting Classic Brands Under One Roof; Renick Cadillac Acquires Subaru Dealership

FULLERTON, Calif.--Sept. 5, 2000--In a move designed to expand and diversify one of the most prestigious and well-established car dealerships in Orange County, Renick Cadillac has acquired Subaru of Orange County in Huntington Beach. Both dealerships will be centrally located in Orange County, on the same Fullerton lot at Euclid and Orangethorpe. Take the "91 Freeway North on Euclid," as the radio jingle has said for years.
"We decided to buy this dealership and move it to Fullerton because it was one of only two Subaru dealerships in Orange County," explains President Leonard Renick, third generation car dealer. "We saw the advantage of uniting Cadillac's luxurious character for quality and luxury with Subaru's classy, low maintenance, solid bargain reputation. It is no coincidence that we selected Subaru, the Japanese word for "unite"."
Basically, the Renick family-owned dealership wanted the chance to promote Subaru's smaller, more compact Forester SUV which has been totally restyled for 2001 with a sportingly sleek, head-turner of a design. It still combines the SUV versatility with a smooth, car-like ride and features the All-Wheel Driving System, a proprietary Subaru feature for maximizing traction on all kinds of roads in all kinds of weather. "This Sport-utility is one tough, car-easy drive," adds Renick who describes the Subaru line of cars as having classic California styling with superior upkeep.
Blending the two reputable automotive lines, Cadillac and Subaru, is an easy feat for the Renick dealership. "This acquisition provides us with an opportunity to apply the same business practices we're known for to an open and expanding SUV market," he explains, projecting that this Subaru dealership will become #1, just as Renick Cadillac has been #1 in Cadillac sales for several years. The company's demographic studies reflect the growing trend by consumer's for a smaller, more compact SUV.
"We have a successful business model," explains Renick. "We have combined world class quality, power and distinctive car designs with friendly home-grown respect, courtesy and excellent service for our customers since my grandfather opened his Packard dealership in 1921." Renick Cadillac has been in business at the busy intersection adjacent to the 91 Freeway since l963.
