Peter A. Granson Jr. Named COO of ChoiceParts
CHICAGO--Sept. 5, 2000--ChoiceParts, LLC., the professional's auto parts network, announced today that Peter A. Granson Jr., a 28-year veteran of The Reynolds and Reynolds Company, has been named chief operating officer of the leading online exchange for automotive repair parts. ChoiceParts(TM) was founded by the Dealer Services and Claims Solutions Groups of Automatic Data Processing, Inc. , CCC Information Services Inc. , and The Reynolds and Reynolds Company to serve the multi-billion dollar market for auto repair parts.
The independent company is currently piloting its integrated, online parts exchange in the Dayton, Ohio area, and will make its solution available to automotive retailers and collision repair facilities later this year.
As COO of ChoiceParts, Granson will initially focus on the rapid regional rollout of the company's online parts solution to automotive retailers this fall. He will also be responsible for building the infrastructure of the company, and for overseeing the installation, integration, training and customer support for ChoiceParts' online parts solution.
"Having worked in the auto industry for nearly 30 years, Pete has developed a vast understanding of this market, and will enable ChoiceParts to continually identify new opportunities to align the needs of auto retailers, car manufacturers and collision repair facilities," said ChoiceParts' CEO Chan Galbato. "By providing integrated online solutions that address those shared needs, ChoiceParts will continue to deliver value, cost savings and efficiency to all of the players involved in the supply chain for auto repair parts."
During the past 28 years with Reynolds and Reynolds, Granson has cultivated a wide array of automotive industry expertise in both domestic and international arenas. Granson served Reynolds in a customer service and product development capacity in the early 1970s, then led the company's international and European business development efforts throughout the 1980s. Most recently serving as vice president of Reynolds' Enterprise Solutions Group, Granson has also cultivated deep experience in auto retailing supply chain management and in developing relationships and strategic alliances with United States car companies.
Galbato said ChoiceParts has an existing base of more than 7,500 customers who are currently using parts locator systems provided originally by two of the company's founders, Reynolds and Reynolds and ADP, and that Granson's automotive industry expertise will help the company to quickly build on its foundation as the leading parts locating service used by dealership parts departments across the nation.
"ChoiceParts has received overwhelmingly positive feedback from the auto retailers participating in our pilot program, and we are looking forward to making our service available to collision repair facilities later this year," Galbato said.
Granson earned a bachelor's degree in economics from Indiana University.
