Ultra Motorcycle Begins Deliveries of 2001 Sledgehammers

5 September 2000

MIRA LOMA, Calif. - Bikers Dream Inc., which operates under the name Ultra Motorcycle Co., Tuesday announced that the company began shipment of the 2001 "Sledgehammers" in August.

The "Sledgehammer," which is proving to be a very popular model, is a rigid-frame "chopper," with ape-hanger handlebar and an Ultra-wide "230" rear tire. It is the newest addition to the Ultra line. Ultra ended the month of August with back orders for 32 "Sledgehammers."

Commencing on Sept. 3, 2000, the company will be offering $500 rebates to customers on select 2000 model Ultra motorcycles to make room for 2001 models in the dealer showrooms.

As production capacity increases, Ultra is continuously seeking to expand its dealer base and is therefore pleased to welcome to its dealer network seven new dealers. This increases Ultra's dealer network to 95 locations. The new dealers are:

Cool Time Cyclery in La Place, La.
Dennis' Speed Shop in Hollister, Calif.
    Dick's Motorcycles in Banning, Calif.
East Bay Motorcycle Center in Concord, Calif.
Nault's Honda in Windham and Manchester, N.H.
    Pacific Rim Motors in Honolulu
Performance Cycles in Little River, S.C.

According to East Bay Motorcycle Center, it has entered into a licensing agreement with the Oakland Raiders to produce 100 special edition Raider motorcycles. East Bay has purchased two Ultra motorcycles, a "Ground Pounder" and a "Fat Pounder," with black paint, to receive the Raiders' trademark logo. These bikes are being displayed at the pre-game on Friday, Sept. 1 and at the Raiders' game on Sunday, Sept. 3. Ultra is proud to be a part of this promotion and to support the Raiders and looks forward to similar participation in the future.

On Sept. 15, 2000, Ultra will be participating in the grand opening celebration of the Bikers Dream Superstore in Santa Ana, Calif., under its new ownership and management. This store, and four others, were owned by Ultra, until Jan. 31, 2000, when it sold its retail operations to V-Twin Holdings Inc. V-Twin Holdings owns other retail stores, in addition to the Bikers Dream Superstores it acquired from Ultra, which also carry the Ultra line. V-Twin Holdings is planning to open other retail outlets in the future, which should result in increased Ultra sales.

Ultra is also proud to announce that in the following months it will be receiving media coverage on its motorcycles and manufacturing facility. Ultra will be the "Featured Manufacturer" in the November issue of Cycle World Magazine. The company's rubber-mounted "Avenger" will be road tested and featured in two magazines. American Rider Magazine will feature a road test and evaluation, which is expected to appear in its February 2001 issue.

Hot Rod Bikes Magazine recently threw its leg over the "Avenger" and the ride review should hit the stands in the November issue. The "Ground Pounder ST," which is Ultra's most popular soft tail model, will see an in-depth review in Friction Zone Magazine. Its staff went over the bike with a fine tooth comb and you can see their findings in the December issue.
