Lazer Transportation Services Builds United States - United Kingdom Trade Region Service Group to Expand Customers' Transportation Options Between These Two Large Marketplaces
TAYLOR, Mich.--Sept. 5, 2000--Lazer Transportation Services' Chief Operating Officer, James R. Lhamon announced today, the development of the new trade route service group strengthening the supply chains of the increasing number of customers focused on doing business to and from these two major world markets."We are putting in place, a team with high level US-UK supply chain knowledge, to assist customers in developing more far reaching solutions to the just-in-time challenges of production and distribution between the United States' and the United Kingdom's major commerce centers," said Lhamon.
This is a response to the Lazer Transportation Services' customers' increasing need for timely access to people with the experience to deliver on the many transportation service options available, to meet the unfolding challenges of global supply chain management. "As the F.X. Coughlin Company's freight forwarding and customs house brokerage unit, we have a reputation for working to understand the unique needs of our customers, and this Trade Region Service Group speeds delivery of that needed level of customer commitment into our customers' hands," continued Lhamon.
The development of the US-UK Trade Region Service Group will be the task of two market development managers, one based on the United States side of the trade corridor and another in England. The Market Development Managers will act as the sales and customer service contacts with the Lazer operations teams and agents at work across both the US and the UK. "The US-UK Trade Region Service Group is a corporate business unit of Lazer Transportation and will augment the continued sales and service initiatives underway in our North American branch office network," said Lhamon.
Industry veteran, Kathleen Royal, has been appointed to the new position of Market Development Manager for the US side of this trade corridor. "I welcome the opportunity to further focus my commitment to provide customers with a strong partner in addressing their transportation needs," said Royal.
Royal has more than twenty years of international transportation industry experience and has demonstrated an understanding of the needs of customers facing new business challenges brought on by the increasingly competitive world markets. Prior to recently serving as Branch Manager of Lazer's Chicago office, Royal joined Lazer in January of 1993 as sales representative after serving in similar capacities for other industry leaders including DHL and TNT. Royal has attended key industry training and educational programs throughout the US and Europe.
In addition, Royal is a current board member of the International Trade Association of Greater Chicago, a member of the Customs House Brokers and Foreign Freight Forwarders Association of Chicago and has served as chairperson, president and director of the International Air Cargo Association of Chicago.
