Mazda Reports August Sales

    IRVINE, Calif., Sept. 1 Mazda North American Operations
(MNAO) today announced U.S. sales of 22,476 units for the month of August.
Overall, Mazda's year-to-date sales total is 171,646, 2.4 percent over the
1999 year-to-date figure.
