Jaguar Announces 17 Consecutive Months of Year-Over-Year Improvement and Jaguar Fact: Navigation Tidbits
MAHWAH, N.J., Sept. 1 Jaguar North America announces year-
to-date sales in the United States totaling 29,831 cars, up nearly 47 percent
compared with the same period last year. Sales totaled 3,550 cars for August.
This month marks the 17th consecutive month of year-over-year improvement.
Jaguar XJ Series sales totaled 1,170 cars, up nearly 13 percent compared
with the same month last year. Jaguar S-TYPE sales totaled 1,954, up nearly
seven percent compared with the same month last year. Jaguar XK Series sports
car sales totaled 426 cars.
"Jaguar sales continue to remain strong," said Mike O'Driscoll, president
of Jaguar North America. "We look forward to continuing our growth as we
debut our 2001 product line, including the new XKR Silverstone."
The Jaguar fact of the month includes two tidbits on Jaguar's integrated
Global Positioning Satellite (GPS) navigation system: XK Series sports car
buyers request the optional navigation system more than S-TYPE and XJ Series
buyers, and more navigation systems are sold in the southeast region than any
other region in the United States .
