Infiniti Division Continues Sales Momentum; Record I30 and QX4 Sales Help Boost the Luxury Division's Sales 11.8 Percent
CARSON, Calif., Sept. 1 Led by record sales of the new
2001 QX4 and 2000 I30, the Infiniti Division of Nissan North America, Inc.,
posted sales of 7,484 units in the month of August, an 11.8 percent increase
versus last year.
The I30, Infiniti's volume sales leader, had yet another record sales
month, reporting a 28.1 percent increase versus the same period last year,
with 3,743 total units retailed. Other notable achievements for the luxury
division include:
-- The popular QX4 luxury sport utility vehicle, which received numerous
improvements for the 2001 model year also had another record month,
reporting sales of 2,059 units in August, an increase of 4.9 percent
versus last year.
-- The G20 sports sedan posted sales of 1,320 units in August, an increase
of 11.0 percent versus the previous year.
-- Infiniti's flagship Q45 performance sedan posted sales of 362 units for
the month of August.
Nissan North America, Inc. combined sales for August, including Nissan and
Infiniti divisions, totaled 70,096 units, a 2.7 percent increase versus last
year.
