Miltope Announces Initial Entry Into Automotive Test/Diagnostic Market
    MONTGOMERY, Ala., Sept. 1 Miltope Group Inc., announces its partnership with EnGenius,
Inc., of Livonia, MI, in the design and manufacture of a ruggedized handheld
test set computer for the automotive industry.  The system is based on the
266MHz Mobile Pentium, 64MB RAM and a touchscreen color display.  The system
includes connectivity to various SAE interfaces, bar code scanning and
wireless communication.  This system, coupled with proprietary EnGenius
software, will enable any automotive manufacturer to run various comprehensive
electronic test applications on automobiles during the actual manufacturing
process.  The use of this test set computer will result in shorter test cycles
and higher levels of accuracy in the testing process.
    The current contract value to Miltope for the engineering, design services
and manufacturing of the initial units is in excess of $500,000.  This award
is another step forward for Miltope in expanding their capabilities into the
commercial and industrial market.
