Amcast Declares Dividend

    DAYTON, Ohio--Aug. 31, 2000--Amcast Industrial Corporation announced today that the Board of Directors has declared a quarterly dividend of 14 cents per share on the company's common stock. The dividend is payable September 29, 2000, to shareholders of record September 11, 2000.
    Dividends paid by Amcast have been uninterrupted since 1936.
