ArvinMeritor Announces the Appointment of Craig Stinson to Senior Vice President and President, Exhaust Systems, Pending Board ApprovalTROY, Mich., Aug. 31 ArvinMeritor, Inc. today announced the appointment of Craig Stinson to the position of senior vice president and president, Exhaust Systems, pending approval of the board of directors. He will immediately replace Wes Vance, who is leaving to pursue interests outside the company. Before his appointment, Stinson was executive vice president of Exhaust Systems. Stinson reports to Bill Hunt, vice chairman and president of ArvinMeritor. Stinson joined Arvin Industries in 1984 as a sales account assistant. For the next 10 years, he held positions of increasing responsibility in the sales and marketing area, before being named vice president in 1995. In that role, Stinson was responsible for manufacturing, engineering and commercial activities for Arvin's DaimlerChrysler exhaust business. Three years later, he was named vice president for manufacturing, engineering and commercial activities for Arvin's General Motors exhaust business. In January 2000, Stinson moved to Eschborn, Germany, when he was appointed executive vice president, responsible for Arvin's General Motors Business Group, Fiat, purchasing, engineering technologies and research and innovation, as well as for the partnership with Zeuna Staerker. Stinson also had stewardship responsibilities for operations in Asia/Pacific and South Africa. Stinson holds a bachelor's degree in finance from Oakland University in Rochester, Mich., and a master's of business administration from the University of Michigan.
