quickly to take advantage of the Tenneco Automotive "Buy 3, Get 4th Free"
promotion, running from September 1 through October 31, 2000.
    The program allows consumers who purchase three Monroe Reflex(TM) or
Monroe(R) Sensa-Trac(R) shocks or struts, or three Monroe(R) Gas-Magnum(R)
shocks, the opportunity to get the fourth unit free. The program is structured
to provide the consumer a free unit at the point of purchase. At the same
time, the promotion ensures that the trade will efficiently receive credit for
the free unit given to the consumer.
