Midas Declares Quarterly Dividend of $0.02 Per Share Payable Oct. 1, 2000

    ITASCA, Ill.--Aug. 30, 2000--The board of directors of Midas, Inc., has declared a regular quarterly dividend of $0.02 per share on the company's outstanding stock, payable Oct. 1, 2000, to stockholders of record at the close of business on Sept. 15, 2000.
    Midas directors also approved changing from quarterly dividend payments to making a single annual dividend payment beginning on Jan. 1, 2001.
    The company also announced that its 2001 annual shareholders meeting will be May 10, 2001, a change from the May 3 date announced in Midas' 2000 proxy statement.
    There currently are 15.2 million shares of Midas stock outstanding.
