    SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Aug. 29 In their Annual 100 Fastest
Growing Companies ranking, Fortune magazine named Federal-Mogul Corporation
as the 53rd fastest growing company in the United States.

    To qualify for the list, which appears in the September issue of the
publication, companies must be U.S.-based, have been in business for at least
three years and have revenues and a market capitalization of at least $50
million.  These companies are then ranked in a number of categories, including
Earnings Per Share Growth, Net Income, Revenue Growth, and Stock Price.  A
company's final ranking is based on the average of these scores.  While
Federal-Mogul ranked 53rd overall, the company ranked 26th in terms of
Earnings Per Share Growth (three-year annual rate), and 39th in the Revenue
Growth category, with a 62 percent three-year annual rate.
