SDRC Receives Metaphase Order From Sandvik; Software to Link Multiple Swedish Sites, With Plans to Expand Globally

CINCINNATI--Aug. 29, 2000--SDRC , a global supplier of e-business collaboration solutions for the product lifecycle, today announced that it has entered into an agreement with Sandvik for software and services valued at approximately $1.2 million over two years. With headquarters in Sweden, Sandvik is a leader in providing high technology products and services to companies in multiple industries worldwide.
Sandvik is initially implementing Metaphase(R) at the Swedish sites of Sandvik Coromant, a company specializing in tooling. Sandvik is using Metaphase to share all design information and is executing phase one of the implementation in Sweden, with aggressive plans to expand deployment to the additional sites worldwide.
Sandvik Coromant needed a tool that was able to connect all designers at their distributed sites and Metaphase was chosen for its ability to support that goal. Sandvik expects to improve the collaboration once the design team is virtually connected in Metaphase.
"SDRC is delighted to help Sandvik streamline its collaboration process," said Bill Weyand, chairman and CEO, SDRC. "Metaphase excels at seamless relaying of data among distributed sites, enabling a company to greatly improve communication across its extended enterprise -- a requirement in deploying collaborative e-business solutions for competitive advantage."
