ArvinMeritor Appoints Beth Gurnack To VP, Investor Relations

ArvinMeritor Announces the Appointment of Beth Gurnack To Vice President, Investor Relations
    TROY, Mich., Aug. 28 ArvinMeritor, Inc. today
announced the appointment of Beth Gurnack to the position of vice president,
Investor Relations, reporting to Lin Cummins, senior vice president,
Communications.  In this position, Gurnack is responsible for coordinating and
managing all Investor Relations activities.  Specifically, she will develop an
Investor Relations strategy and action plan to support ArvinMeritor efforts in
creating shareholder value.  Before being named to her new role, she was
director, Investor Relations, for Arvin, Inc.  Gurnack replaces Paul Ryder,
who has chosen to pursue opportunities outside of the company.

    "Beth brings a wealth of experience and insight to this position," said
Cummins.  "She will be a valuable addition to the ArvinMeritor Communications
team, and will focus on creating interest in and enthusiasm for the company as
a sound investment."
    Before joining Arvin in 1986, Gurnack held a number of management
positions at Maremont.  Prior to that, she worked for Exxon Corporation and
McKinsey & Company.  Gurnack holds a bachelor's degree in Mathematics from the
University of Illinois and an MBA from the University of Chicago.
