LINCOLN, Ala., Aug. 25 Honda Manufacturing of Alabama, LLC
(HMA) announces the hiring process for managerial and technical positions has
begun. Effective today, HMA will post available salaried positions for the
plant in Lincoln, Alabama on the Alabama State Employment Service (ASES) Web
site.
Applicants are encouraged to visit the Employment Service Web site at
http://www.dir.state.al.us/es/honda or mail a resume to ASES, P.O. Box 7000,
Talladega, AL 35161. The Web site will provide a short description of each
position with candidate requirements. Positions available will range from
engineering and purchasing to human resources and information systems.
Beginning Sunday, August 27, 2000 Honda will widely advertise employment
opportunities in newspapers across the state. The ads are designed to direct
people to the Web site and ASES. They are being placed to encourage maximum
involvement by interested Alabama residents.
Honda will not accept resumes or inquiries. All resumes and inquiries
must go through the ASES. Contact your local ASES office if you have any
questions.
"This is a great opportunity for people to get in on the ground floor with
Honda," said Andy Ritter, Senior Manager of Administration. "We are excited
to begin hiring a highly capable and diverse Alabama team. We are partnering
with ASES to ensure the highest quality applicants are available."
Ritter said there would be about 40 positions posted with additional
positions posted as they are identified. He encouraged people to check the
Web site frequently for updates.
"We are confident that Honda Manufacturing of Alabama's work force will be
reflective of our community," Ritter stated, "Alabama has a wealth of
potential associates."
"ASES is pleased to work with Honda in helping to provide good employment
opportunities to the people of Alabama," said Jackie Burns, Office Manager of
Alabama State Employment Service, "this is part of our mission."
HMA began interviewing hourly process and equipment service associates
this month, with the formal hiring to begin in October 2000. Honda broke
ground on the new Lincoln facility in April of this year, and plans to begin
production in late 2001. HMA will employ approximately 1,500 associates when
it reaches its twin annual capacities of 120,000 vehicles and 120,000 engines
in late 2002.
