Business EditorsELKHART, Ind.--Aug. 25, 2000--The Board of Directors of CTS Corporation , has elected H. Tyler Buchanan Vice President, CTS Corporation according to an announcement today by Joseph P. Walker, Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officer, CTS Corporation.
Prior to his promotion, he held the position of Vice President and General Manager, CTS Automotive Products. Buchanan will assume overall responsibility for both CTS' automotive sensors and actuator manufacturing facilities in North America and Europe, and resistor networks/electrocomponents manufacturing operations in North America and Asia. CTS Automotive Products is a world leader in the design and manufacture of a wide variety of electronic position sensors and actuators used in automotive powertrain, suspension, fuel system and emission control systems. CTS Resistor/Electrocomponents is a leading designer and manufacturer of resistor network, cursor control, DIP switch and variable resistor products.
Buchanan is a 1974 graduate of the University of North Carolina where he earned a B.S. degree in Industrial Relations. He began his business career with White Consolidated Industries. In 1977, he joined CTS of Asheville, Inc., Asheville, North Carolina, where he held positions in Human Resources and Manufacturing. In 1987, after an assignment at a CTS facility in Bentonville, Arkansas, Buchanan accepted the position of Tooling Manager with CTS' Electromechanical Group, Elkhart, Indiana. He was promoted to Manager, Human Resources/Materials of CTS Automotive Products in 1992; named Director, Human Resources/Materials in 1994; named Director of Operations in 1997; and promoted to Vice President and General Manager in 1999.
Mr. Buchanan and his wife, Opal, reside in the Elkhart area.
