GOODYEAR NOTES AND QUOTES: Tony Freund, lead engineer, stock car development:
"This is the same tire that we brought to Bristol for the Spring race, and we
saw excellent tire performance in both qualifying and the race. Steve Park took
the pole with a new track record and the top six qualifiers all ran quicker than
the previous record."

"Pit stop strategy comes into play pretty heavily at Bristol since it is one of
the few remaining tracks on the Winton Cup circuit that still has two pit roads.
The backstretch pits are notoriously at a disadvantage but teams pitting there
can elect to only change right side tires to make up valuable track position.
The left side tires don't see much action on this steeply banked, short oval and
have proven they can go two stints without slowing the car down. We expect to
see the teams pitted on the backstretch use two tire stop strategies to gain or
hold valuable track position."
