However, in their attempt to make the field of 41, theyll go against a mighty strong cast of ARCA warriors fresh from the Springfield dirt mile less than a week prior including 3-time champion and all-time superspeedway winner (22) Tim Steele. Steele set the Kentucky bar in July with a convincing victory in the inaugural Kentucky ARCA 150. Even though Steele missed Daytona, the Coopersville, Michigan driver is already 3rd in points behind current point leader and 98 ARCA champ Frank Kimmel with veteran Bob Strait sandwiched between them. Mark Gibson will make his landmark-200th career ARCA start at Kentucky, more than any other active ARCA driver. The Winder, Georgia and 3-time ARCA winner finished 3rd to veterans Tim Steele and Bob Strait in Julys Kentucky ARCA 150. The Blue Grass Quality Meats 200, rolling off on Saturday afternoon, will run in conjunction with the IRL Belterra Resort Indy 300 scheduled for showing on Sunday. At present, 41 ARCA drivers representing 16 states are entered. The event marks the 2nd appearance of the ARCA Bondo/Mar-Hyde Series in Kentucky since 2-time ARCA champ Bobby Bowsher won at the Louisville Motor Speedway in 96. While Des Moines, Iowa driver Shawna Robinson continues in her quest to become the first female to win an ARCA Bondo/Mar-Hyde Series race in 48 years of ARCA competition, Sarah Fisher will attempt to be the first-ever IRL winner here in Kentucky.
