USF Bestway Appoints Senior Vice President, Operations & Sales

    SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.--Aug. 23, 2000--USF Bestway, a regional LTL unit of USFreightways Corporation, announced today the appointment of Gary Beggs to the position of Senior Vice President, Operations & Sales. Bob Fasso, President and CEO of USF Bestway and President of USFreightways' Regional Carrier Group, made the announcement.
    Beggs comes to USF Bestway with 28 years of transportation experience in a variety of positions including dock, line-haul management, equipment maintenance, territory sales, regional sales & operations management, and business unit management. He most recently served as Vice President-Express Services for Yellow Freight System, Inc. Beggs holds an undergraduate degree from Texas Tech University and an MBA from Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Missouri.
    USF Bestway, based in Scottsdale, Arizona, serves the Pacific Southwest through a network of 41 strategically located terminals. It provides overnight service between all major markets statewide in both California and Texas.
