iSalvage and United Recyclers Group Form Web Alliance; Partnership Expands iSalvage's National Coverage
NEW YORK--Aug. 23, 2000--iSalvage, an Internet-based procurement network for recycled and remanufactured parts, and United Recyclers Group (URG), a partnership of over 350 automotive parts recyclers throughout the United States and Canada, today announced a strategic alliance that opens URG's extensive inventory to iSalvage's customers and solidifies iSalvage's national expansion efforts."As a partnership, we could not be more excited about aligning our group with iSalvage. Our partners have really worked at making a difference in the automotive recycling industry. These differences are what make alliances with a company like iSalvage possible," said Sharon Kellum, URG general manager. "iSalvage has already spent months working out the logistics and details to make their business to business program a success. We want to help URG Partners to be an important part of that success."
The partnership gives iSalvage customers access to the more than three million parts in the URG recycled parts inventory and enables URG to reach a whole new customer base through the Internet. Buyers will find that this service makes it convenient for them to purchase a wide variety of parts online and track part deliveries to their doors. In addition, iSalvage offers a dedicated customer service team to handle returns or exchanges, when necessary.
"With the URG partnership, iSalvage can now offer our procurement network to buyers across the country. With URG's inventory growing at the rate of 200,000 parts per month, we can provide our customers with an increasingly wider selection of parts," said Jeff Stotland, CEO of iSalvage. "With our strong emphasis on customer service, our partnership with URG will be invaluable for thousands of shops throughout the United States and Canada. Our goal is to bring the best service possible to our customers, and partnering with URG is a huge step in that direction."
iSalvage eliminates the problems that face both buyers and sellers of recycled parts. Recycling facilities benefit from the iSalvage procurement network by extending their market beyond its local area, while reducing the facility's need for expensive phone-based customer service to answer basic inventory questions. Parts buyers benefit as well, because iSalvage makes it easier for them to compare prices, quality, and shipping time for a greater supply of parts, making their parts buying experience easier, more reliable, and more cost-effective.
The new service between URG and iSalvage will launch in late September 2000.
