Did you know? Goodyear's new-generation Eagle racing slicks were first
introduced to the NASCAR Winston Cup Series one year ago for the August race at
Michigan Speedway.

GOODYEAR QUOTE: Tony Freund, lead engineer, stock car tire development:
" This particular setup of Goodyear's new-generation Eagles has seen a good deal
of successful performance this season, including the Memorial weekend race at
Charlotte; and, at Michigan, the June Winston Cup and IROC contests and the July
Craftsman Truck event. These tires will see action again at the October
Charlotte race. The drivers and teams are compiling plenty of history with this
new tire package.
"Looking back at the Michigan race in June (won by Tony Stewart), we saw the
current top three drivers in the championship points chase (in order: Bobby
Labonte, Dale Jarrett and Dale Earnhardt) finishing 2-3-4 (in order: Earnhardt,
Labonte, Jarrett) in the race. Based on that, we should see one great race
amongst the current top contenders."

On this weekend's race: "Typically, we see a fuel mileage contest with the
number of pit stops required playing into the outcome of the race, along with
plenty of 2-3-wide racing action.
