17 August 2000

Rego Mold and Tool boosts Textron Fastening Systems' strengths in custom plastic injection molding

TROY, Mich. - Textron Fastening Systems today announced the acquisition of
Rego Mold and Tool, a leading supplier of primary tooling and plastic injection
molded components for the wireless telecommunications market and other
industries. Rego will join TFS' - Advanced Solutions group (formerly known as
InteSys Technologies), headquartered in Gilbert, Arizona, which serves the
wireless telecommunication, business equipment, and medical industries. Rego,
based in Wheeling, Illinois, enhances TFS' tooling, mold making, and overall
engineering capabilities while providing close proximity to a number of core
customers. Rego's 1999 sales were approximately $10 million. Terms of the
transaction were not disclosed.

"This acquisition allows us to help our customers reduce their product
development cycle times by applying Rego's unique mold engineering,
development, and production capabilities. We are excited to bring this value-
added technology to our global customers, further extending our engineering
and technological capabilities. Building on our recent acquisitions of
InteSys, Advantage Molding & Decorating, and now Rego, we continue to look for
acquisition and partnering opportunities globally to complete our portfolio in
the custom molding, decorating, and tooling markets," said John A. Janitz,
President and Chief Operating Officer of Textron Inc.

Rego is widely recognized in the industry for its ability to design and
build high precision molds using complex mechanical actions with short lead
times. Rego applies its engineering expertise to part designs by assessing
tooling needs and necessary mechanical actions. A proprietary concurrent
engineering approach is then applied to design and build the injection mold.
Using these methodologies Rego has become an industry leader in time-to-
market, cost, and delivery.
