Lear Corporation Recognized by Automotive Opinion Leaders As 'Best of Best' Among Interior, Electronic Systems Suppliers

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - Lear Corporation has earned recognition as one of "The
Best of the Best 2000" among the world's automotive suppliers in Automotive
Industries Magazine's 3rd Annual Quest for Excellence Survey.

Last night Lear was honored as The Best of the Best 2000 in both Interior
Suppliers and Electronic System Suppliers categories at a dinner and awards
presentation at the Detroit Institute of Arts. Automotive Industries (AI) and
PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP joined forces to conduct the "Quest for Excellence"
research project. Questionnaires were sent to AI subscribers who were asked
to evaluate automotive supplier performance.

"As suppliers are asked by original equipment manufacturers to assume
greater responsibility for reliability and durability, the highest quality
standards in engineering, product development and manufacturing are an
absolute necessity," wrote Automotive Industries Magazine Editorial Director
Andrew J. Cummins. "Suppliers who consistently rank high in the five areas of
quality, price, delivery, service/response and innovation deserve to be ranked
among the best of the best and receive the coveted 'Quest of Excellence'
award."

Lear Corporation, a Fortune 150 company headquartered in Southfield,
Mich., USA, focuses on automotive interiors and electronics, and is the
world's fifth-largest automotive supplier. Sales in 1999 were $12.4 billion.
The company's world-class products are designed, engineered and manufactured
by more than 120,000 employees in over 300 facilities located in 33 countries.
