ACE Hardware Selects Eaton Fleet Advisor
CLEMMONS, N.C. - Eaton Corporation's Trucking Information Services announced today that ACE Hardware Corporation has purchased Fleet Advisor."Implementation of the Fleet Advisor System is right in line with Ace Hardware's Vision 21 process and fundamentals being communicated throughout our organization today," explains Michael Lyons, Corporate Fleet Operations Manager. "Our short and long term objectives in transportation remain focused upon improving our delivery process and communications in support of our retailers. With the partnership of Fleet Advisor, this will offer our company the most advanced technology in measuring real-time data. Ultimately, this will lead to reaching our overall goals."
Fleet Advisor is a transportation logistics and fleet management system that uses full-function on-board computing, global positioning technology, and mobile communications to facilitate real-time data collection from mobile fleet assets. Among Fleet Advisor's many powerful features are electronic DOT logs and IFTA reporting. The system integrates with back-office information systems and supports third-party application use through a system API.
New product enhancements--InfoTach(R) and Tracking Advisor(R) GIS software--provide digital tach-o-graph recording and schedule exception handling, which support planning and route execution, and can improve safety. The product's precise collection and immediate processing of information eliminates time-consuming paperwork and removes barriers to the flow of information that exist with traditional fleet management systems.
