Omron Automotive Honored With an Automotive Industries' Quest for Excellence AwardFARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. - Omron Automotive Electronics, a global supplier of advanced electronic components, has received a Quest for Excellence Award from Automotive Industries and PriceWaterhouseCoopers LLP. The 3rd Annual Quest for Excellence Award is bestowed upon suppliers that obtained the highest rankings on a PriceWaterhouseCoopers survey distributed to Automotive Industries' subscribers in May 2000. AI readers were asked to evaluate suppliers on five criteria -- service, quality, price, delivery and innovation. Omron was recognized along with only three other companies who are suppliers of sensors. "Omron is extremely honored to be recognized by Automotive Industries' readers, who represent a vital cross-section of the automotive industry," said Jerry Bricker, North American general sales manager. To provide customer support and service to its expanding customer base, Omron will open a new North American Headquarters, Sales and Applications Center in 2001. The 12,000 sq. ft. facility will be located in Novi, Mich. Since 1995, Omron's automotive sales have increased more than 20 percent per year. Annual revenues are projected to top $200 million (U.S.) by 2002.
