TNN Increases Number of Telecasts of Popular Pennzoil World of Outlaws Series for 2001
NEW YORK, Aug. 16 TNN, the home of the popular Pennzoil
World of Outlaws sprint-car racing series, will expand its commitment to live
grassroots motorsports programming in 2001 by telecasting three additional
live Pennzoil World of Outlaws Series events.
This action-packed, open-wheel racing series, that has attracted nearly
two million spectators to its events in 2000, made its live television debut
on TNN in 1995 with one telecast. In 2001 TNN Sports will present 18 live
World of Outlaws Series telecasts from Las Vegas, Nev.; Houston, Texas; Ft.
Worth, Texas; Mechanicsburg, Pa.; Charlotte, N.C.; Sarver, Pa.; Bristol,
Tenn.; Eagle, Neb.; Knoxville, Iowa; Fargo, N.D. and Rossburg, Ohio.
"The audience for grassroots motorsports, like the World of Outlaws, is
strong," says David Hall, President, TNN. "We are especially pleased to be
able to increase the number of live World of Outlaws telecasts in 2001. The
series continues to attract a large loyal audience, especially young male
viewers."

sponsors and media to the series since the first live telecast on TNN."
TNN will kick-off the 2001 World of Outlaws Series telecast schedule from
Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Friday, March 2, 2001 (10:00 PM-12:00 Midnight,
ET/PT), before moving to Houston Raceway Park for TNN's inaugural telecast
from the 3/8-mile dirt oval in Houston, Texas on Friday, March 23, 2001. TNN
will also telecast, for the first time, the ETHENOL CLASSIC from the famed
Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa Saturday, June 30, 2001. And, TNN Sports
will again present the most prestigious sprint-car race in the world, the
AMOCO KNOXVILLE NATIONALS, Saturday, Aug. 11, 2001 from Knoxville.
