Greggory A. Notestine Appointed President, Arvin-Kayaba Worldwide

ArvinMeritor, Inc. Appoints Greggory A. Notestine President, Arvin-Kayaba Worldwide
    TROY, Mich., Aug. 11 ArvinMeritor, Inc. and
Kayaba Co., LTD of Japan today announced the appointment of Greggory A.
Notestine to president, Arvin-Kayaba Worldwide.  Based in Franklin, Ind.,
Notestine will report directly to a board of directors composed of three
Kayaba and three ArvinMeritor representatives.  As president, Notestine also
will serve as a member of the Arvin-Kayaba board of directors.  He was
formerly vice president and general manager of Arvin Exhaust Ford Business
Group.
    In his new role, Notestine is responsible for all manufacturing,
procurement, engineering and commercial activities for Original Equipment (OE)
Ride Control joint ventures with Kayaba Industry Company, LTD.  These
businesses include APA/KYB in Pamplona, Arvin-Kayaba, LLC in North America,
Arvin-Kayaba Brazil, Arvin-Kayaba Turkey and OE Ride Control businesses in
emerging markets.
    The Arvin-Kayaba joint ventures have previously been managed as separate
businesses, but now will be consolidated globally under one management team.
This team will have both ArvinMeritor and Kayaba executives, assigned from the
parent companies, reporting directly to Notestine.
    "This new Arvin-Kayaba worldwide organization will enable the original
equipment ride control business to operate as one global entity to better
serve customers and to achieve cost synergies through the standardization of
product designs," said Bill Hunt, president and vice chairman, ArvinMeritor
and who serves as chairman of APA/KYB and Arvin-Kayaba, LLC.  "This new
opportunity for Gregg is well-deserved based on his experience and outstanding
performance.  We look forward to his continued contributions to the success of
our company and our customers."
    Notestine joined the former Arvin Industries, Inc.'s North American
Automotive business planning group in 1986.  Since then, he has held positions
of increasing responsibility, including treasurer of Arvin-Sango; general
manager OE Gas Springs at AVM; director South American Operations; and most
recently, vice president and general manager - Ford Business Group, OE Exhaust
Systems.
    Notestine earned his bachelor's degree in economics from DePauw University
and an MBA from Harvard University.
