Ford Motor Company Chooses E-Sync Networks' TotalMail To Replace Existing In-plant Messaging Systems
TRUMBULL, Conn. - E-Sync Networks, Inc. , a leading provider of e-business-to-business applications and integration services, today announced that Ford Motor Company will use its TotalMail services to replace the existing messaging systems at up to 30 of its plants.Under the terms of the service agreement, E-Sync Networks initially will roll out 6,500 TotalMail e-mailboxes. According to Ford's estimates, the number of outsourced e-mailboxes will grow to approximately 50,000 by year-end 2002.
Ford's desire to increase messaging functionality and to reduce the costs associated with maintaining in-plant messaging systems was what prompted its search for a next-generation, outsourced messaging service. The company reviewed proposals from several of the top messaging services providers, including Critical Path, Mail.com, and USA.NET, before selecting E-Sync Networks' TotalMail. TotalMail is a unified and secure corporate messaging solution that offers unsurpassed integration of e-mail with voicemail, paging, telephony, calendaring, public and private folders, directory services, distribution lists, and virus scanning. It also offers automated directory synchronization and an established, secure connection to the Automotive Industry Action Group's Automotive Network Exchange (AIAG ANX), which Ford requires.
"We have built a very successful relationship with Ford over the past 20 years, and are proud to have earned its business again following a very competitive selection process," says Jonathan Rubin, President and CEO of E-Sync Networks. "Ford's goals are to enable its employees to communicate more effectively and to reduce corporate expenditures by outsourcing its in-plant messaging service, while providing a web-based client interface for e-mail. This is exactly what the company is getting with TotalMail."
The TotalMail advantage
TotalMail is a worry-free way to manage corporate e-mail. Using TotalMail, companies can minimize the internal complexity and costs associated with in-house messaging systems. Because it is an outsourced service, there is virtually no administration required on the part of the customer's technical staff members, freeing them to concentrate on other business-critical tasks.
TotalMail uses the latest in security technology. Virus scanning prevents customer networks from being compromised and eliminates needless downtime. E-Sync Networks' anti-spam technology eliminates unwanted messages, while digital certificates ensure that all messages received originate from trusted parties.
