Top 20 Finish for Rose at Nashville Speedway USA

9 August 2000

Top 20 Finish for Rose at Nashville Speedway USA
NASHVILLE, Tenn., Aug. 7 Bowling Green's Brian Rose
overcame carburetor problems to claim a 20th-place finish in Saturday's 50-lap
NASCAR Weekly Racing Series Late Model Stock Car division feature at Nashville
Speedway USA.
After qualifying in 21st position, Rose, driver of the Robo Enterprises
#72 Monte Carlo, picked his way through the traffic and cautions to the 13th
position by Lap 38. With the 2000 Monte Carlo starting to turn its best laps,
an extended caution on Lap 38 brought traffic to a crawl.
Before the green flag dropped on the restart, Rose's carburetor
malfunctioned, bringing him to a stop on the backstretch. By the time the
crew corrected the problem and Rose returned to racing, he had dropped two
laps off of the lead. Rose was able to fight his way back up to 20th position
by the race's end.
"The crew did an excellent job of finding and fixing the problem," Rose
said. "I was happy that I was able to return to the race and finish as well
as we did."
"I know we're close to that magic combination that will put us in the
winner's circle," Rose added. "Everything's coming together at the right
time. We're going to be in great shape for this Friday's 125 lap race."
Rose's week will be filled with driving as he attempts to qualify for his
first NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race this week, also.
"Friday's a big day," said Rose. "I get to qualify for my first shot at
the Craftsman Truck Series, and drive in a 125 lap Late Model race. Starting
early Friday morning we'll practice in both our car and the truck, take
qualifying runs in both the car and truck, then drive in the big Late Model
race that night."
"There are a lot of big-time drivers in the Craftsman Truck race," said
Rose. "If I'm lucky enough to qualify, Saturday's going to be a big day in my
racing career."
Rose's next Late Model Stock Car is the Twin 125's Friday, August 11, at 7
p.m. at Nashville Speedway USA. The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Federated
Auto Parts 250 drops the green flag at 7 p.m. Saturday.
Racing Rose, Inc. based in Bowling Green, Kentucky was formed in 1999. The
