Collins & Aikman Names Robich as Senior VP, Global Procurement and Supply Chain Management

    TROY, Mich. - Collins & Aikman Corporation today announced the appointment of Joseph P. Robich as Senior Vice President of its Global Procurement and Supply Chain Management function. In making the announcement, Thomas E. Evans, Chairman and CEO, noted "Robich's extensive knowledge and experience in the areas of purchasing, procurement, materials management and logistics will help us to better leverage our size and capabilities to continually improve our performance. Additionally, as we move forward with our e-commerce initiatives, he will play a critical role in ensuring that we optimize Collins & Aikman's position in the value chain." Robich will report directly to the Chairman and CEO and will be a member of the Company's Strategy Board.

    Previously, Robich was Vice President of Purchasing for Collins & Aikman's carpet, acoustic and plastic plants in Europe. He is also Managing Director for the Company's Austrian Operations. Robich began his career with Collins & Aikman in 1998 as Vice President for Purchasing and Logistics for all the Company's plastic plants. In May 1999, he was promoted to Vice President of European purchasing for the Company's carpet, acoustic and plastic plants. Prior to joining Collins & Aikman, Robich held several senior management positions within the automotive industry including at Becker Group International, AP Automotive Systems, GKN Automotive and AlliedSignal. Robich earned a bachelor's of commerce degree in business administration and master's degree in business administration from the University of Windsor, Canada.
