Dodge and Chrysler Hold Line On Pricing for All-New 2001 Minivans
AUBURN HILLS, Mich. - Dodge and Chrysler will hold the line on pricing for
its all-new 2001 minivans. Adjusted for additional content, pricing remains
the same as the 2000 models they replace.
"In addition to offering numerous industry and minivan first features, our
all-new 2001 Dodge and Chrysler minivans offer unmatched refinement in terms
of quality, ride and handling, performance and overall driving experience,"
said Frank J. Ewasyshyn, DaimlerChrysler's Senior Vice President, Advance
Manufacturing Engineering and General Manager of Minivan Operations. "With
our all-new Dodge and Chrysler minivans, we've taken another giant leap in the
segment we invented."
All-new 2001 Dodge and Chrysler minivans are available in numerous models
and offer an extensive list of unique features and minivans firsts including:
an industry first power liftgate; industry first removable, powered center
console; minivan first pop-up rear cargo organizer; minivan first split 50/50
Easy Out Roller Seats(R); minivan first three-zone automatic temperature
control system; adjustable pedals; power sliding doors allowing for minivan
first manual override and a minivan first obstacle detection system for
opening and closing; entertainment systems with minivan first wireless
headphones, and the segment's most powerful engines, the 3.8-liter (215
horsepower) and 3.5-liter (230 hp).
"Anyone in the market for a new minivan in 2001 will simply have to
consider the value that our all-new Dodge and Chrysler minivans have to
offer," said Ewasyshyn. "From below $20,000 to $38,000, we'll continue to

Today the Chrysler Group begins shipping its mid-level, premium and luxury
versions of its all-new extended-wheelbase 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan and
Chrysler Town & Country minivans. Production of standard-wheelbase minivans
including Chrysler Voyager, Chrysler Voyager LX, Dodge Caravan SE, and Dodge
Caravan Sport begins in October. Pricing for standard-wheelbase models will
be announced at that time, but will start below $20,000.
Following is extended-wheelbase pricing for all-new 2001 Dodge and
Chrysler minivans:
Dodge Grand Caravan Sport
Pricing for the extended-wheelbase Dodge Grand Caravan Sport begins at
$24,890, which includes destination ($615 for all models). Grand Caravan
Sport is available with an industry first power liftgate and industry first
removable, powered center console. Standard features include anti-lock brakes
(ABS); power windows, locks and mirrors; speed control; and a tilt steering
column. Available options include driver and front seat passenger side air
bags, integrated child safety seats, a power sliding passenger-side door with
a minivan first obstacle detection system for opening and closing, and a tip-
and-fold rear split bench seat. Dodge Grand Caravan Sport AWD starts at
$30,310 and includes the most powerful in class 3.8-liter V-6 engine with 215
horsepower, rear seat climate control, sunscreen glass, overhead console and
remote keyless entry.
Dodge Grand Caravan ES
The well-equipped Dodge Grand Caravan ES is priced starting at $29,725,
which includes destination and features minivan first three-zone automatic
temperature control, 16-inch aluminum wheels, dual power sliding doors, 10-
speaker Infinity(TM) sound system, and four-wheel disc brakes. Options
include an industry first power liftgate, minivan first removable, powered
center console, leather seating, load-leveling and height control suspension,
four-disc in-dash CD changer, heated seats and 17-inch chrome wheels. Dodge
Grand Caravan ES AWD starts at $32,850, which includes destination.
Chrysler Town & Country LX
Pricing for Chrysler Town & Country LX starts at $25,045 which includes
destination ($615). Chrysler Town & Country LX standard features include:
dual sliding doors; air conditioning; four-wheel disc anti-lock brakes (ABS);
power windows, locks and mirrors; speed control; and a tilt steering column.
Optional features include: a minivan first power liftgate; industry first
removable, powered center console; passenger-side power sliding door with a
minivan first obstacle detection system for opening and closing; side air
bags; and integrated child safety seats. Chrysler Town & Country LX AWD (all-
wheel drive) starts at $31,465 which includes destination and the most
powerful in class 3.8 liter V-6 engine with 215 horsepower, minivan first
split 50/50 Easy Out Roller Seats, sunscreen glass, overhead console and
remote keyless entry.
Chrysler Town & Country LXi
Pricing for Chrysler Town & Country LXi starts at $29,790, which includes
destination. In addition to standard features offered on Chrysler Town &
Country LX, this model includes minivan first three-zone automatic temperature
control, a 10-speaker Infinity sound system, and dual power sliding doors that
provide minivan first manual override.
Options include an industry first power liftgate, industry first
removable, powered center console, leather seating, load leveling and height
control suspension, four-disc in-dash CD changer, heated seats and 16-inch
aluminum wheels. Chrysler Town & Country LXi AWD starts at $33,330, including
destination.
Chrysler Town & Country Limited
Chrysler's ultimate luxury minivan, the opulent Chrysler Town & Country
Limited, will start at $35,465, which includes destination. Standard luxury
amenities include: memory seats, mirrors and radio pre-sets; eight-way power
seats for driver and passenger; and 16-inch chrome wheels.
In addition, standard features include an industry first power liftgate,
power dual sliding doors which allow minivan first manual override, driver and
front seat passenger side air bags, load-leveling suspension, traction
control, steering wheel audio controls, interior and exterior automatic
dimming mirrors, full size spare tire, leather seating and luxury carpet trim.
Chrysler Town & Country Limited AWD starts at $37,790, which includes
destination.
Minivan Segment
Since creating the minivan in November of 1983, the Chrysler Group has
