Dodge and Chrysler Hold Line On Pricing for All-New 2001 MinivansAUBURN HILLS, Mich. - Dodge and Chrysler will hold the line on pricing for its all-new 2001 minivans. Adjusted for additional content, pricing remains the same as the 2000 models they replace. "In addition to offering numerous industry and minivan first features, our all-new 2001 Dodge and Chrysler minivans offer unmatched refinement in terms of quality, ride and handling, performance and overall driving experience," said Frank J. "With our all-new Dodge and Chrysler minivans, we've taken another giant leap in the segment we invented." All-new 2001 Dodge and Chrysler minivans are available in numerous models and offer an extensive list of unique features and minivans firsts including: an industry first power liftgate; industry first removable, powered center console; minivan first pop-up rear cargo organizer; minivan first split 50/50 Easy Out Roller Seats(R); minivan first three-zone automatic temperature control system; adjustable pedals; power sliding doors allowing for minivan first manual override and a minivan first obstacle detection system for opening and closing; entertainment systems with minivan first wireless headphones, and the segment's most powerful engines, the 3.8-liter (215 horsepower) and 3.5-liter (230 hp). Production of standard-wheelbase minivans including Chrysler Voyager, Chrysler Voyager LX, Dodge Caravan SE, and Dodge Caravan Sport begins in October. Pricing for standard-wheelbase models will be announced at that time, but will start below $20,000. Following is extended-wheelbase pricing for all-new 2001 Dodge and Chrysler minivans: Dodge Grand Caravan Sport Pricing for the extended-wheelbase Dodge Grand Caravan Sport begins at $24,890, which includes destination ($615 for all models). Grand Caravan Sport is available with an industry first power liftgate and industry first removable, powered center console. Standard features include anti-lock brakes (ABS); power windows, locks and mirrors; speed control; and a tilt steering column. Available options include driver and front seat passenger side air bags, integrated child safety seats, a power sliding passenger-side door with a minivan first obstacle detection system for opening and closing, and a tip- and-fold rear split bench seat. Dodge Grand Caravan Sport AWD starts at $30,310 and includes the most powerful in class 3.8-liter V-6 engine with 215 horsepower, rear seat climate control, sunscreen glass, overhead console and remote keyless entry. Dodge Grand Caravan ES The well-equipped Dodge Grand Caravan ES is priced starting at $29,725, which includes destination and features minivan first three-zone automatic temperature control, 16-inch aluminum wheels, dual power sliding doors, 10- speaker Infinity(TM) sound system, and four-wheel disc brakes.
