Powerway Chooses Nuclio To Safeguard Infrastructure For Running Online Supply Chain Collaboration Solutions

8 August 2000

Powerway Solidifies Transition Toward Using the Internet to Reliably Automate The Supply Chain

INDIANAPOLIS - Powerway, Inc. today announced it has selected Nuclio Corporation to manage and monitor the infrastructure for Powerway.com, the first collaborative Internet workplace dedicated to improving supply chain performance.

Reliability is crucial to Powerway.com's ability to deliver critical information online across the entire supply chain. As a management service provider (MSP), Nuclio was selected based on its demonstrated ability to deliver predictable performance of networks, systems and applications. Dependable performance of its Web-based workplace ensures that Powerway customers can realize the full impact and efficiencies of online supply chain automation and integration.

"Because a critical aspect of Powerway.com is real-time collaboration and customers expect it to be available 24x7, Powerway needed to find a credible and dependable partner to ensure that Powerway.com meets customers requirements and expectations," said Mike Campbell, CEO of Powerway, Inc. "Nuclio was the logical choice to help us to provide these critical services to Powerway.com customers."

According to Campbell, outsourcing network, application and system management to Nuclio will enable Powerway.com to reliably deploy online supply chain solutions in mission-critical environments at some of the largest corporations in the world, including DaimlerChrysler Corporation, an equity shareholder in Powerway. As a pioneer in the emerging MSP industry, Nuclio has established a solid track record of ensuring reliable, predictable IT performance for Web-based and traditional companies.

"Getting your suppliers to collaborate online is every OEM's dream, but keeping the supply chain running over the Web reliably is everyone's challenge," said John Jazwiec, president and CEO, Nuclio. "This agreement is significant because it represents the convergence of two important shifts in information technology: online supply chain management supported by a management service provider--both making e-commerce simpler and more efficient."

"Nuclio will work with Powerway to help Powerway manage its technology assets. By serving as a single source of accountability and automating network management and monitoring, we will allow Powerway to concentrate on more strategic efforts," added Jazwiec.

Nuclio will deliver time and cost savings through automated IT management and monitoring, as well as providing customer service and technical support for Powerway.com, including a 24x7 help desk. Powerway found Nuclio to be an appealing alternative to a fully outsourced service provider model because Nuclio will increase Powerway's system reliability without giving up control of the company's technology infrastructure, applications, vendors and information. By offering management and monitoring tools that are 95 percent automated, Nuclio will enable Powerway to predict and correct problems before they occur, keeping the site's mission-critical applications up and running around the clock.
