Delphi to Use Mondial De l'Automobile 2000

7 August 2000

Delphi to Use Mondial De l'Automobile 2000 to Showcase Innovations in Fuel Economy, Safety and Communications
    TROY, Mich., Aug. 7 Delphi Automotive Systems
will showcase several automotive innovations at the Mondial de l'Automobile
2000 in Paris this September. Technologies to be highlighted include Delphi's
direct injection diesel system, Integrated Safety System(C) and
Communiport(R).

    DIRECT INJECTION DIESEL TECHNOLOGY - DIESEL COMMON RAIL
    Delphi's diesel common rail system for direct injection engines provides
fuel economy improvements and is considered to be a major building block to
bring the advantages of diesel engines to a wider base of consumers.
    Diesel common rail will bring significant benefits in fuel economy,
torque, noise and emissions through a unique accelerometer pilot control (APC)
strategy, which measures the combustion event in each cylinder. Customers for
the technology will be announced at a later date.
    At Mondial, customers will see how Delphi is globally positioned with a
full line of diesel engine management systems, including air, fuel and exhaust
aftertreatment.

    DELPHI INTEGRATED SAFETY SYSTEMS(C) - EUROPEAN INTRODUCTION
    In addition, Mondial will represent the European public debut of Delphi's
Integrated Safety System(C) (ISS). This all-inclusive, vehicle-wide safety
system design can combine any of Delphi's more than 50 safety technology
offerings to provide enhanced protection throughout the entire driving
experience.
    Delphi's ISS encompasses the safety impact of multiple technologies and is
geared to enhance occupant protection during normal driving; to help reduce
vehicle collisions through collision-avoidance measures; to enhance occupant
protection in the event of a collision; and to help assist post-event rescue
efforts after a collision event.

    DELPHI COMMUNIPORT(R) MOBILE MULTIMEDIA - PORTFOLIO UPDATE
    Delphi will also provide an update of its popular Communiport(R) line of
Mobile MultiMedia technologies. News announcements are anticipated.
    Five new Communiport products are scheduled to enter the marketplace
during the 2001 model year, including:

    *  Infotainment PC on the 2001 Cadillac Seville and DeVille programs;
    *  Integrated navigation radio system;
    * Mobile Productivity Center, to be available through consumer retail and
       aftermarket outlets;
    * Rear-seat audio/video entertainment system, to be available through
       consumer retail and aftermarket outlets; and
    * OEM satellite digital audio radio.

    DELPHI EXHIBIT
    Delphi's exhibit at Mondial is located at booth #151 in Hall 1, Aisle A.
Featured technologies at the exhibit, beyond Delphi's technology news
highlights, include:

    *  Energen(TM) stop-start generators and E-Steer systems.  These products
       help bring more energy and fuel economy to the vehicle while protecting
       the environment;
    * FOREWARN(R) Adaptive Cruise Control. This technology is now available
       on the Jaguar XKR. It helps bring more comfort, convenience and safety
       to driving; and
    * MagneRide(TM) ride control suspension system. As previously announced,
       MagneRide will be available on the 2002-model-year Cadillac STS. It,
       too, helps bring more comfort and convenience to driving.

    DELPHI MEDIA CONFERENCE - SEPT. 29, 9 A.M.
    Delphi will hold its press conference on Friday, Sept. 29, from 9 to
9:30 a.m., at its booth (#151), located in Hall 1, Aisle A.
