Modified action saw Rich Pennock, Jr. lead the field to the green flag while being chased by Bob Sitterly and Bob Vedder. As the field came around to complete the first circuit the cars of Dave Lape and Mike Romano touched on the frontstretch, sending Romano around and headed toward turn four. He was clipped by the cars of Alton Palmer and Kenny Martin as the two tried to avoid the incident. Martin's car made a hard hit into the inside wall. The Romano car was towed to the pits. He was unable to return.

Holmes took the lead on the restart and within two laps began to pull away from the field. Tony Pepicelli sat third behind Rich Pennock with A. J. Romano fourth and Bob Vedder now fifth.

Holmes continued to put distance between him and the rest of the field. Behind him the race was now between A. J. Romano, Bobby Albert, Craig Criscone and Bobby Varin.

The final caution on lap 21 closed up the field and put Romano, Albert, Pepicelli and Varin nose to tail behind Holmes for the restart. Holmes easily pulled away and made his way to the checker.

Young Jessica Zemken led the sportsman field of 28 cars to the green. Jessica led until the first caution when her No. 1P experienced transmission problems under caution and was forced into the pits.

Mike Ballestero was now in the lead for the next five laps until his No. 27 began to smoke him to the pits.

Frank Greco took the lead from Ballestero and ran for two laps until debris on the track brought out the next caution and restart.

Frank Hoard, Jr. took the lead on the restart and never looked back. Hoard, Jr. recorded his second win of the year giving back to back wins in the division.

The Pro Stock action came to the green with Kerry Jordan on the point. Jordan led lap one and on the lap two restart spun in front of the field and collected Steve Burega.

Phlan Hart led lap three and was quickly overtaken by eventual winner Noviczski on the backstretch.

Noviczski continued to stretch his lead. With only two laps to go Noviczski had some tense moments in lap traffic when he had to pick his way around the No. 42 of Tom LaPlante.

Noviczski continued his smooth methodical way for the final circuit and recorded his sixth win of the 2000 season.

The fifteen lap I.M.C.A. Modified action began with rookie Bill Ward, Jr. at the head of the field. The No. 92 of Kevin Buff quickly overtook Ward. Buff held the lead until lap seven when Steve Hough put his No. 25 in the lead. Hough pulled away but was being pursued by Buff and Steve Bidwell who was now third. Bidwell got by Buff on lap nine and on lap eleven Buff slid high and slammed the backstretch wall. Hough was never seriously challenged after that and went on to claim his first ever win at the track.

The Street Stock A action saw four different leaders in twelve laps and a first time winner at the checker. Don Warner was the early leader until Dan Rickard took over on lap six. Joe Donato led lap eight and when the final lap was complete it was Ed Bradt on the point to take his first ever checker and make a trip to Checkerboard Square.
