DaimlerChrysler Corporation Reports U.S. and Canadian Assembly Plant Schedule for Week of August 7, 2000

    AUBURN HILLS, Mich. - DaimlerChrysler Corporation reports seven U.S. 
assembly plants and two Canadian assembly plants will operate the week of August 
7, 2000.

    Belvidere (IL) and Toledo 1 (OH) will not operate in order to balance
inventory.  Toledo 2 (OH) will operate two eight-hour shifts weekdays.  Conner
Ave. (MI) will operate one eight-hour shift weekdays.  Sterling Heights (MI)
will operate two eight-hour shifts weekdays.  Dodge City Complex-Warren Truck
(MI) will operate two eight-hour shifts weekdays.  Jefferson-North (Detroit,
MI) will operate three seven-hour shifts weekdays.  Newark (DE) will operate
two eight-hour shifts weekdays.  St. Louis-North (Fenton, MO) will operate two
eight-hour shifts weekdays.  St. Louis-South (Fenton, MO) will not operate due
to model changeover.

    In Ontario, Canada, Bramalea will operate three seven-and-a-half-hour
shifts weekdays.  Windsor will operate three seven-and-a-half hour shifts
weekdays.  Pillette will not operate due to model changeover.
