Toyota Says GM Confirmation of OnStar System is Premature

    TORRANCE, Calif. - On Thursday, Jim Press, Executive Vice President of 
Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., responded to an announcement by Mark Hogan, 
President of E-GM, that Toyota will use GM's OnStar system.  

    "Mark Hogan's confirmation that Toyota will use GM's OnStar system on some
of its vehicles sold in North America is premature.  Toyota is in discussions
with GM to use the OnStar system on a few new models, but no formal agreement
has been signed."
