American Axle & Manufacturing Unveils Its Business-to-Business Portal Through Redesigned 'aam.com'

DETROIT - American Axle & Manufacturing Holdings, Inc. today announced the
launch of its new business-to-business portal, an interactive window through
which it will more efficiently and effectively communicate and transact with its
associates, customers, suppliers, investors, and the media.

The new American Axle & Manufacturing (AAM) portal, which can be entered
through the redesigned "aam.com" website, will be unveiled to AAM associates
today at the company's Detroit Open House 2000. More than 10,000 people (AAM
associates and their families) from the Metro Detroit area are expected to
attend the event, which will showcase AAM's facilities, technology, products,
processes and systems.

The new B2B portal incorporates AAM's new advertising campaign slogan,
"Delivering. Power.", and it includes the following new features:

    * Customized information and an interactive communications link for
suppliers, including on-line tracking of quality performance using a
new scorecard, and automated review of the suppliers' involvement in
AAM's new suggestion program, Suppliers and Customers Aligned for
       Excellence (SCALE).

    * A comprehensive new investor site that includes stock trackers, e-mail
capabilities, end-of-the-day stock quotes, printer-friendly SEC
filings, and an on-line version of the 1999 Annual Report. Interested
investors can sign up to receive e-mail distribution of financial
       information rather than fax distribution.

    * Detailed product catalog for customers. Potential customers will be
able to check out AAM's comprehensive line of driveline systems,
       chassis systems and forged products.

    * Updated human resources link. Potential new associates can look for
       career opportunities.

    * Information on AAM industry events and community involvement.
