Nissan Division Reports Firm Sales for July

Sentra and Total Truck Sales Set the Steady Pace

    CARSON, Calif. - Thanks to strong Sentra sales and steady truck sales, the 
Nissan Division of Nissan North America, Inc. posted July sales of 61,574 units.

    Sentra in its sixth consecutive month of sales increase is building
momentum in the market hitting 11,106 units, an increase of 86.4 percent
versus July of last year and  up 10.9 percent for the first seven months of
this year compared with last year.

    Truck sales for the division were steady with a slight increase in
Pathfinder sales of 5,657 units and Frontier sales of 9,516 units.  Division
truck sales hit 28,487 units, a 3.1 percent increase versus last year.
Combined sales for July for Nissan and Infiniti divisions totaled 69,029
units, a 0.2 percent increase versus last year.

    Other sales highlights include:

    --  Altima sales closed at 10,743 units.
    --  Maxima sales reached 11,237 units.
    --  Through July of this year, Nissan Division sales totaled 398,353 units
        versus 342,620 during the same period last year, up 16.3 percent.
    --  Combined Nissan and Infiniti sales for the first seven months of 2000
        totaled 446,244 units versus 380,724 for the same time last year -- an
        increase of 17.2 percent.

    In North America, Nissan's operations include automotive styling,
engineering, consumer and corporate financing, sales and marketing,
distribution and manufacturing.
