Trooper, AIMI's flagship and luxury segment leading SUV showed an increase of 20 percent through the end of July, as compared to the same time a year ago. Through the end of July 2000, Trooper sales have reached 12,193 units, with the extremely popular 2WD version accounting for approximately 38 percent of sales. AIMI's best-selling vehicle, the Rodeo, remains a major player in the fiercely competitive four-door compact SUV segment. Rodeo's year-to-date sales of 35,981 units are an increase of three percent for the year. Year-to-date Amigo sales, totaling 7,078, are running a strong 23 percent above that of this time last year, reflecting continued customer enthusiasm for the rugged yet sporty SUV that is the most powerful in its class. The VehiCROSS is making a strong showing in the newly emerging hybrid category, showing a solid increase of 17 percent over its introductory-year numbers from 1999. To date, 766 VehiCROSSes have been sold, up from 657 this time last year. "SUV sales are up four percent for the same period a year ago," said Buck Trawick, Vice President, SUV sales. "Even with the softening of the market this month, and industry-wide concerns like increased fuel prices and traditional summer vacation periods, we feel very pleased with these results. Amigo sales have been phenomenal, and the venerable Trooper is still running strong in a very tough market. People are confident in our vehicles, thanks in part to our industry-leading 10 year/120,000 Powertrain Limited Warranty."
