SPX's INRANGE Technologies Subsidiary Announces Agreement To Acquire Computerm Corporation

MUSKEGON, Mich. - SPX Corporation today announced that its INRANGE
Technologies subsidiary has entered into an agreement to acquire Computerm
Corporation. The transaction is expected to be completed by the end of August,
subject to Hart Scott Rodino review.

Located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Computerm provides high-performance
channel extension products and services. Channel extension technology allows
storage networking applications to operate over wide area networks. The
channel extender is used with channel directors to support disaster recovery,
data mirroring, remote processing, and other applications which are key to
maintaining high-availability storage networks.

Computerm's suite of channel extension offerings complements INRANGE's
storage networking systems and expands its virtual storage networking family
of channel directors, optical multiplexers, and channel extension products and
services. In addition to bringing together these complementary technologies,
the customer service groups of both companies will be merged, leveraging
INRANGE's worldwide infrastructure with Computerm's central-site support
model.

SPX Corporation is a global provider of technical products and systems,
industrial products and services, service solutions and vehicle components.
