Unique Mobility, Inc. Announces Additional Development Contract With Deere & CompanyGOLDEN, Colo. - UNIQUE MOBILITY, INC., a developer of alternative energy technologies, announced today that it has entered into a contract with Deere & Company to develop hybrid electric vehicle systems and components for future John Deere products. The contract provides that Unique will work with John Deere on an exclusive basis for up to three years to develop proprietary brushless permanent magnet motors, electronic controllers and related components for hybrid electric vehicles and evaluate their commercial potential. This project follows a similar agreement with John Deere announced by the Company in March for the application of Unique's proprietary electric motor and controls technology to other John Deere products. "We are delighted to expand our multi-year collaboration with John Deere to include another application of our technology that will enhance the capability of John Deere products," said William G. Rankin, Unique's Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer. "The application of our highly efficient motors and controls in combination with evolving technologies such as the new 42-volt electrical system standard can revolutionize the capability of products of industry leading companies like John Deere." Bernard B. Poore, John Deere's Manager, Product Technology, also commented on the project. "Unique has demonstrated an ability to develop highly efficient permanent magnet motors and electronic control systems over a broad range of applications," Mr. Poore said.
