Glas-Aire Industries Group, Ltd. Announces QS9000/IS9001 CertificationVANCOUVER, British Columbia - Glas-Aire Industries Group, Ltd., a majority owned subsidiary of Regency Affiliates, Inc., today announced the Company has completed its final quality assessment by the Quality Management Institute and satisfactorily met the requirement standards of both ISO9001 and QS9000. Glas- Aire is a leading designer and manufacturer of high quality thermoformed accessories for the automotive market. Glas-Aire's President Alex Ding said: "ISO9001/QS9000 certification represents a new milestone for the Company on the "Quality Highway" and demonstrates Glas-Aire's capabilities to North American and Global markets that demand quality performance. This quality certification will make us more competitive and will help pave the way into the European automotive market. In addition to increasing our market share, it should lead to other exciting business opportunities." Commenting further, President Alex Ding said: "Glas-Aire's new infrastructure will improve its manufacturing effectiveness and act as a solid foundation for continuous improvement and business growth. In Glas-Aire's market segment, ISO9001 certified suppliers are uncommon and the QS9000 registered companies are rare. This is an excellent window of opportunity to increase the Company's market share since almost all of Glas-Aire's competitors lack QS9000 certification. I, along with the rest of the management, would like to thank the Glas-Aire Team, its clients and suppliers for their support in helping the Company attain this international industry recognition." Glas-Aire adopted the concept of Total Quality Management and started to develop/install the ISO9001 infrastructure in the mid 1990s. In the late 1990s, QS9000 certification became a "must" for tier one suppliers, so the Company expanded the scope of its quality focus to include this standard alongside ISO9001. QS9000 has been developed by "The Big Three" (Daimler-Chrysler, Ford and General Motors) and accepted by many other auto manufacturers. ISO9000 has been formulated by the European Community ("EC") as the governing quality standard for all producers worldwide that wish to deal with EC. Glas-Aire designs and makes sunroof wind deflectors, hood deflectors, rear-air deflectors and door visors for cars, light trucks and vans. Glas-Aire sells its products in the United States, Canada, Japan and the United Kingdom. The Company is based in Vancouver, British Columbia and also has a distribution center in Bellingham, Washington.
