Autoweb.com Names Former GM and EDS Executive Nadyne G. Edison As Chief Marketing Officer and Vice President of Customer Relationship Management
SANTA CLARA, Calif., July 20 Autoweb.com, Inc. today announced that Nadyne G. Edison has
joined the company in the newly created position of chief marketing officer
and vice president of customer relationship management. Edison was formerly
director of New Media Marketing at General Motors Corporation, and most
recently served as vice president of strategic development for Automotive
Customer Relationship Management at EDS, Inc.
Edison has extensive experience developing CRM strategies for vehicle
manufacturers and dealers to better serve and interact with online automotive
consumers. In 1996, while at General Motors, she launched gm.com, a fully
integrated Web site linking corporate, divisional and retail sites, giving GM
the largest online presence of any vehicle manufacturer at the time.
Prior to joining General Motors, Edison created and served as the first
executive director of the Mayor's Office of Film, Television and New Business
Development for the City of Detroit. She was also a professor of
Mass Communication at New York University. As president of her own marketing
communication firm, Edison consulted with major Fortune 500 companies in the
automotive, entertainment and communication industries.
In addition to her responsibilities in directing Autoweb.com's marketing
efforts, Edison will establish and direct the company's customer relationship
management strategy, leveraging Autoweb's customer knowledge with vehicle
manufacturers.
"I am pleased to welcome Nadyne to the Autoweb.com team," said
Sam Hedgpeth, president and CEO of Autoweb.com. "The depth of her automotive
industry, marketing and customer relationship management experience will be a
tremendous asset as we look to deepen our ties with consumers and vehicle
manufacturers."
"The future of automotive online activities will involve providing
consumers an easy and seamless customer experience where they can transact
their e-business and interact across manufacturers, dealers and service
providers in one environment," said Edison. "Autoweb is perfectly positioned
to be the leader in the automotive online buying and ownership experience."
Edison holds Doctorate and Masters degrees in Communication from
Michigan State University, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication from
Queens College. She will be launching Autoweb.com's Detroit office in
September.
