Federal-Mogul Wins $900 Million of Power Cylinder System Contracts

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - Federal-Mogul Corporation today announced the recent
awards of three contracts by two major automotive manufacturers for power
cylinder systems. Start of production is expected to begin in year 2003.
Estimated revenues for these contracts are approximately $900 million over the
contract periods.

"These awards validate our strategy to provide systems and modules. Our
ability to add systems engineering value to our precision engine components is
why we have become one of the world's leading powertrain system suppliers,"
said Alan Johnson, executive vice president, The Americas and Asia. "Our
engine expertise has accelerated in the past few years because as we grew, we
strengthened our engineering and technology resources. Proof of this is the
strength of our system solutions that address the increased demands on engine
performance and emission controls."

Federal-Mogul's comprehensive expertise in pistons, piston rings,
connecting rods, bearings and cylinder liners come together in a ready-to-
install power cylinder system -- a totally integrated system that's lighter,
more durable, less costly, and easier to install than conventionally assembled
products.

To unlock the synergy of system solutions, Federal-Mogul's research and
development centers in the United States and Europe use the world's most
advanced analytical, testing and design technologies to develop system
offerings and processes. Federal-Mogul continues to increase content-per-
vehicle participation consistent with the company's strategic offering of
systems to original equipment customers.

Headquartered in Southfield, Michigan, Federal-Mogul is an automotive
parts manufacturer providing innovative solutions and systems to global
customers in the automotive, light trucks, heavy duty, farm and industrial
markets. The company was founded in 1899.
