GOODYEAR NOTES AND QUOTES: Larry Kraus, engineer:
"This is the same tire set-up that was used in last year's race. The right side
tire has been a popular tire this season and has already been used at Nashville,
Loudon, and Richmond, and will also be used at Gateway, Memphis, and Phoenix.

"The left side tire is unique to this track for the Busch Series cars, but is
similar to the tires used at many of the other short tracks the Series visits.
The tires feature a tougher tread compound than that used at the other mile
tracks due to the D-shaped oval configuration of Pikes Peak. This shape results
in only one short straight down the backstretch, with the remainder of the track
being one long continuous curve."
