DENSO International America Appoints Bill Steffan Vice President, Strategic Business Planning

    SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - DENSO International America, Inc. announced the 
appointment of Bill Steffan of Farmington Hills, Mich., to the newly created 
position of Vice President, Strategic Business Planning in the Corporate 
Planning department.

    Steffan, who has considerable international business experience, will
coordinate development of DENSO's North American strategic business plan in
support of global DENSO growth initiatives.  In addition, he will work with
North American business units to help optimize their respective growth
strategies.

    Previously, Steffan was president of PLS Enterprises in Fort Wayne, Ind.,
a consulting group that assists companies with operational improvements,
acquisitions and divestitures.  Prior to that, he was chief administrative
officer, interim chief operating officer and a Board member for Walbro Europe
in Paris, France.

    During his six year-tenure with Walbro, he directed a $250 million plastic
fuel tank operation with facilities in Norway, United Kingdom, Belgium,
France, Spain, Germany and India.  In addition, he integrated six newly
acquired plants into Walbro Europe, blended nine autonomous operations into
one cohesive unit and established a European headquarters.

    Earlier in his career, he was Director, Acquisitions, Mergers and Strategy
at Walbro Automotive Corporation in Auburn Hills, Mich.

    Steffan earned a Bachelor of Science in Business degree from Bowling Green
State University, Bowling Green, Ohio.

Corporation, the fourth largest automotive supplier in the world with
operations in 26 countries.  North American consolidated sales for 1999
totaled $3.6 million.  The corporation has 21 companies, joint ventures and
affiliates in North America.

    Global consolidated sales for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2000
totaled $17.8 billion.
